3rd IN AN AWARD WINNING WILDLIFE PROTECTION SERIES
0.999 SILVER COIN WITH SWAROVSKI EYES, ANTIQUE FINISH
LIMITED TO ONLY 2500 TOTAL MINTAGE
The 2012 issue celebrated the long-eared hedgehog, one of the 25 known species that belong to the hedgehog family. The coin has embedded crystals and an absolutely marvelous relief on the reverse side, which makes this coin a great decoration of any numismatic collection.
The obverse has a traditional mint that represents the emblem of Mongolia Bank. The legends surrounding the central image denote the country of issue, the face value of the coin and the rate of silver purity, which is .999. There were only 2.500 coins issued, each encapsulated to protect the fine relief of this work of art.
The reverse side of the coin contains a relief image of the long-eared hedgehog, perfectly matching the round shape of the coin. To add an extra special note to the already perfect reverse side, the designers decided to bedew the mint with two black crystals that symbolize the eyes of the animal. The image is also surrounded by several inscriptions reading the name of the series and the animal, as well as the year of issue.
