CANADIAN WATERS COLOURIZED COIN

Mintage limited to 7500

This bright, brilliantly-illustrated coin honours the beautiful Algonquin Provincial Park, a well-loved Ontarian campground and national historic site. This provincial park is almost twice the size of PEI, and is the oldest provincial park in Canada; it contains over 2,400 lakes and 1,200km of streams and rivers, as well as a transition from southern deciduous forest into northern coniferous forest, making it a highly diversified, self-sustaining ecosystem. This coin attempts to capture the breathtaking scenery of this iconic Canadian site via exclusive and advanced ‘transition effect’ colourization technique, used for the first time ever on this piece! Painted and engraved into 99.99% fine silver, this coin truly highlights the beauty of the Algonquin Provincial Park in autumn, while the transition effect brilliantly captures the feeling of the sun shimmering off the surface of the falling water. The coin could be seen as a tribute to the legacy of Canadian landscape painting, as Algonquin was one of the sites of inspiration for the Group of Seven. This one-ounce fine silver coin would be a beautiful addition to any collection of silver, or act as a thoughtful, unique gift for any nature lover you know.
