The modern 1 cent coin features two maple leaves on the same twig, first used in 1937 and has remained unchanged with one exception, 1967.
OBVERSE: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the Latin inscription ELIZABETH II D G REGINA. The inscription is an abbreviated form of the one used from 1953-1964.
REVERSE: 1 cent with two maple leaves on the same twig, the date on the left and CANADA at the bottom.
