This 6 coin special edition set is the 1999 “test token” Proof-Like set . The coins in this set are a result of the Mint’s efforts to develop am innovative coin plating technology. Each of the 5 coins bears a P on the obverse to reflect the plating on the coin. The set also includes a Royal Canadian mint medallion.
The set includes 5 coins, a medallion, the original mint envelope and the certificate:
- Winnipeg mint medallion – cupronickel plating over a steel core
- 50 cent coin – cupronickel plating over a steel core
- 25 cent coin – cupronickel plating over a steel core
- 10 cent coin – cupronickel plating over a steel core
- 5 cent coin – cupronickel plating over a steel core
- 1 cent coin – cupronickel plating over a steel core
- Certificate of authenticity from RCM – uniquely numbered
- Original coloured envelope from RCM
